Hi 🙂 Welcome to Such a Lovely Red! I’m Rachel Burton, or Rach — Deaf, AuDHD, a mother, a woman, and fiercely gentle. I see the world a little differently, and I love sharing that perspective with others.
I write, speak, sign, perform, and create content — keynotes, workshops, ASL dubbing for film, TV, and media projects, whatever the work calls for. Call it what you want — content creator, cultural framer — but the through-line is the same: I explore what it means to actually belong in Deaf culture, neurodivergence, and the language we build to survive spaces. No topic is too taboo or too tender to explore.
My path has been one of self-discovery, shaped by a transformative moment in December 2021 that set me on a course to embrace new identities, navigate mental health challenges, and find a fresh sense of purpose.
With a BA in Sociology from Gallaudet University and a Master’s in Media, Culture, and Communication with specialization in Visual Culture and Cultural Studies from New York University, I’ve spent my career crafting and studying messages that resonate and connect.
Gentle hearts are welcome.
